I published a Sunday evening post after the dust had settled on last weekend, which included the disappointment of the Lionesses narrowly losing in the ladies football World Cup. Since then we have had announcements from Ofgem regarding the cap from October (see story below). Both MAT and StepChange have commented. DEMSA agrees with StepChange that Ofgem must ensure energy firms don’t make things worse by seeking unaffordable debt repayments. Having discussed this with John Fairhurst yesterday, we need to ensure that energy repayments sit alongside DMP repayments in a controlled and understandable manner, where debt solution providers can reasonably expect to know when contributions to priority debts have been cleared. ...
