Stamp Duty is under review again thanks to the deputy PM and her multiple properties. I am wondering whether she is falling out of the definition of ‘working person’ unless there are ‘special exemptions’.
Credit Union stats
The Bank of England has published Credit Union stats for Q1 2025. This showed growth in the levels of arrears by value and volume of cases.  

Key points from the data include:

Credit Union adult membership grew 0.33% to 2.16m in Q1 2025
The total value of assets held by UK Credit Unions rebounded slightly in Q1 2025, increasing 0.14% to £4.89 billion after the first quarterly fall since records began in Q4 2024
Quarterly income and expenditure reported by UK Credit Unions in Q1 2025 retracted from the record levels posted last quarter. Income fell by 12.98% to £99.62m, and expenditure fell by 15.76% to £86...
