The BBC headline is ‘Fear and scepticism as Reeves prepares for her big Budget moment’. This doesn’t bode well. On 26 November 2025, the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, will deliver the 2025 Autumn Budget. The Chancellor says the Budget will “deliver on the priorities of the British people: Cutting NHS waiting lists, cutting the national debt and cutting the cost of living”. We shall see. Data shows that British adults generally believe the economy is in a poor state, and are highly critical of the government's handling of it. 79% consider the British economy to be in a bad state, while 77% say the government is doing a bad job at managing the economy.
