Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)

Consumer Duty and Regulatory Streamlining: The FCA released an action plan to review and simplify consumer finance rules following the introduction of the Consumer Duty. It will focus on mortgages and lending standards, simplifying savings account communications, and reviewing credit advertising requirements (e.g. cutting lengthy T&Cs) to reduce burdens on firms while improving consumer outcomes​.
​The FCA plans to retire 100+ pages of outdated guidance and withdraw hundreds of old supervisory letters, in line with its strategy to be a “smarter regulator” supporting growth​.
