Motor Finance Claims Crackdown: The FCA (with the Solicitors Regulation Authority, Information Commissioner’s Office, and Advertising Standards Authority) launched a joint crackdown on misleading motor finance claims management practices. Using new powers (first-ever use of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024), the FCA compelled 9 law firms to disclose high “exit fees”, forced two CMCs to pause taking clients until compliant, and had two others alter their fee policies.
